SLYCE Weighted SpeedCap (28g, 1.0 oz.) Paddle Performance Enhancer

I first picked up the 1 oz speedcap after hearing John Kew and Pickleball Effect both rave about this product. I put it on my Holbrook Power Pro 14 mm, which has been my favorite paddle for a long time. At first, I hated it. It made me not want to use the paddle because I wasn't used to the extra weight. While the speedcap does lower the balance point on your paddle and while that does help with maneuverability, you are still adding weight to your paddle. And that's what I didn't like at first was the fact that it was still heavier.

HOWEVER, after committing to playing with it for 2 straight weeks, I can now say I am in love with the set up. My backhand flicks and rolls saw an improvement as I got used to the weight. Surprisingly, my dinking also improved. With more weight on your paddle, the less effort you have to put into dinking because the paddle is transferring more energy into the ball with more weight behind. I'm also able to absorb pace from heated drives and volleys from my opponents much better because it feels so stable and solid in my hand.

In short, using the speedcap is for more than just improved maneuverability, it's about having more stable shots for drops, dinks, and resets. You also get more power on your volleys, especially if you use your wrist like I do.

At first I was mad that I bought it, but now I couldn't be happier. I would definitely recommend this product with a warning to be ready for an adjustment period.

I want to first start by mentioning the quickness of the support team in answering my question of which speedcap to choose. I received a reply well after work hours and within minutes of sending in my question. Once received, i took to install it, but I am loving the feel of it so far.

I bought the 1 ounce Slyce cap and put it on my Six-Zero Ruby paddle and played with it this past weekend. The paddle balance was better and I felt that hitting the sweet spot at the net was improved. The process to put it on the paddle was simple. It also served me coffee and crumpets between games.

Great addition to lower the balance point on hybrid and elongated paddles. Allows for additional weighting to the paddle head for additional power and improved stability/twist weight, whilst keeping it maneuverable at the kitchen line!
